FAQ

Do you carry extra fuel?

Short answer: Yes!

Long answer: You should figure out how many miles you can go on a tank of gas with your vehicle. Knowing your average MPG is crucial to having a safe and enjoyable adventure. For reference, our Polaris XP4 1000s usually get about 15 mpg. So we know we can go ~150 miles on one tank of gas, and if we carry 4 gallons extra, we know we can extend that to 210 miles.

Luckily, gas stations are fairly frequently located across the state. Only a couple of stretches of the mapped routes require extra fuel.

Do you camp or stay in hotels?

The crew at East of Nowhere Adventures like to stay in hotels. So all of the routes that we publish start, end, or pass-through cities that have suitable hotels or motels.

With that said, Utah is blessed with so much public land that the camping opportunities along the Pioneer Trail System are endless; you’ll find great campsites all over the place that are suitable for off-grid stops.

Where can I download the routes?

Each named trail has a link to download the GPX tracks. The links will generally send you to Polaris Ride Command where you can view the route in more detail and download a GPX file that you can then import to your favorite application like Gaia or OnX.

Do you offer guided services?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any guided services or support for traveling the routes. Please do so at your own risk and be well prepared!
